It is an imaginary scene that allows the observer to contemplate; the light evokes a calm that enhances the senses, making it easier to hear and perceive one’s surroundings. Wilson designed the product on stage with the same approach he uses in all of his expressive vehicles: the work is the fruit of “the reduction of the languages of words, gestures and behaviors to their basic grammars, to the minimal structure of their complexity”. The result is completely abstract and non-interpretive, leaving the on-looker the chance to freely associate their own, imaginative universe. Light is space, and without it, nothing would have the same dimension.

The lamp has a magnetic base and comes with a complimentary metal anchor, fit to go under a tablecloth for a whimsical mise-en-place, or screwed into the wall, turning Lafleur into an appliqué.

The modular system started from the symbology he applied to a sculpture in 1980; Slamp’s R&D team transformed it, creating folded and jointed, meter-long hexagonal sections to be infinitely combined, filling a space with floating landscapes. Artist Lorenza Bozzoli captures the splendor of Art Deco’s opulent architecture, lying in sharp contrast to the somber style of the post war style. Odeon pays homage to the theatre, the dramatic arts, and joie de vivre, and is available in two sizes, with a diameter of 65 or 100 cm, with concentric crowns of coupled metallic Goldflex and Lentiflex, a glasslike, rippling technopolymer. The lamp is shipped fully assembled in protective wood packaging, and is easily installed. The bulbs can be replaced autonomously.
